[Midori is an old-school, romantic player whose feelings gush forth from her [Guarnerius del Gesu] violin with generous amounts of vibrato, frequent slides and vigorous, even savage, bowing.

Yet always, she maintains poise and complete control with perfect note placement and enchanting command of dynamics.

The orchestra gave good support at [David] Lockington's direction. The standing ovation was well deserved for all.
