The audience was in good hands with Midori as the violin soloist in [Saint
Saëns's] "Havanaise" and his Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso.
... Midori used a lean yet focused sound, a clear sense of rhythm, and
a decidedly unsappy left-hand execution to deliver tasteful accounts of
both pieces. The Rondo Capriccioso, in particular, has some tricky passages,
but they were no match for the violinist's preternaturally nimble technique.
