What a piece.[Walton's Violin Concerto] Midori played it with such soft-grained lustre and delicate inflection that the sound itself seemed almost disembodied. .... I have rarely heard the sognando (dreamy) quality of this exotic, sun-kissed, music so sensuously addressed.
