Midori’s Eötvös DoReMi recording is nominated for an International Classical Music Award

Midori’s recording of Peter Eötvös’s Violin Concerto DoReMi – written for and dedicated to Midori and released on Alpha Records, together with Eötvös’ Cello Concerto Grosso and Speaking Drums – has been announced as one of three finalists of ICMA’s Audio and Video Awards 2017 in the Contemporary section.

The finalists were whittled down from a list with 321 nominated releases across 119 labels.

The winners will be announced on 19 January 2017. An award ceremony and gala concert is scheduled for 1 April 2017 in Leipzig, with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra conducted by Francesco Angelico.
